About the American Pathology Foundation:
The American Pathology Foundation (APF) is a non-profit professional society devoted to the business and management of pathology. Founded in 1959 by pathologist leaders and laboratory industry executives, APF strives to provide high quality educational programs and practice management resources.
The Foundation proudly welcomes pathologists at all stages of their professional journey, including trainees, pathology practice managers and laboratory executive professionals in private practice, hospital and academic settings. From a governance philosophy, membership to the APF board of governors is equally represented by pathologists and non-pathologist executives, with one co-president elected from each constituency.
Announcement:
APF produces the Pathology Service Coding Handbook, a well-respected resource in the pathology community. For 2023 and future, the APF is served by an oversight Advisory Panel for the APF Pathology Service Coding Handbook, with: Editor-in-Chief, Robin Miller Zweifel, MT (ASCP) and co-editor; and Tiffani Bouchard, CCS. This pair of industry veterans collectively offers many years of pathology professional, technical, molecular, compliance and claims adjudication expertise to the APF Community. This new advisory panel will be responsible for updating the outstanding handbook content and supportive consultative services, while continuing the legacy of former Editor-in-Chief, Brenda Cox, MT ASCP, CPC, FHFMA. Please refer to the linked biographical sketches of the new APF Editorial Coding Handbook Advisory Team to reflect of the expertise of these leaders in the business of pathology.
